Introducing Panekana
Bad news first. The machine you’re watching this on is not secure, and more likely than not, it’s compromised. Apple, Windows, Linux. They are all exploitable by hackers.Hi, I'm Steve Aokalani.A few years ago, in enterprise sales, I had an $83 million dollar deal fall through… because I did not know enough about cybersecurity. I signed up for a cybersecurity class to learn what went wrong… and, consequently, how to become a hacker. I was shocked — over and over again — at how simple it is to exploit computers. It's just the reality we live in, with so much of our work happening on the internet… it gives us access to data, but it also gives hackers access to us. Today's security problems could never have been predicted when computers were brought to market decades ago.For many businesses, this is an existential threat. 7 billion records were compromised already this year. 70% of these attacks happen at the employee computer level. Losses from cybercrime last year totaled 10 trillion dollars. And yet we are spending dramatically more each year to prevent cybercrime.. Obviously, we can’t keep doing the things the way we have been. The system is broken. It's time for a secure new Operating System. It’s time for Panekana.
The Product
Panekana is a new operating system, built from the ground up, with entirely new assumptions derived from the modern threat environment. So, a new operating system... Taking on Apple, Linux and Microsoft... I know that's a capital B big idea… But before you stop listening, I want you to know we’ve already built it. Happy to get into deeper details and a demo on a call, but, in broad strokes: Panekana adds several layers of specialized processes that disable known hacker tools.Every app runs in its own immutable virtual machine, created and approved by your company's IT department. Any hacker or malware that gets in through any application, has nowhere to go. The internet is kept separate from the core Panekana system and the company's intranet. Panekana doesn't rely on security updates or patching holes. The core system is isolated and secured, with proprietary techniques and technologies. It's easy to manage, easy to install, easy to implement system-wide, and most importantly — easy for all employees to use. And, it runs on existing hardware. That's right. Existing. Hardware.Only in the last few years have typical business computers become capable of running this degree of virtualization. And we think that's the key to cybersecurity.
The Opportunity
Cybersecurity spending continues to accelerate. But cybercrime losses still outpace the dollars spent to prevent them. The rapid adoption of AI expands risk exponentially, and yet, before that risk has even been fully understood... it has been installed as a core component of Microsoft and Apple's operating systems.Today, 2.7 billion laptops and desktops are insecure, and we estimate 90% of them are presently compromised. The average cost of an attack is 4.5 million dollars. Sadly, that’s a death sentence for 30% of businesses. That's why 200 million businesses say cybersecurity threats are a top concern. And every year, those companies spend over 100 billion dollars on operating systems and services for employee computers… That's our market.
Go-To-Market
Panekana uses a traditional enterprise software model. We license the Operating System to companies, we perform services to integrate Panekana into their business, and then we sell services to support their App Store and maintain their system. And as Panekana is adopted, we'll develop affiliate and partner channels with companies such as Deloitte, Accenture, etc. to accelerate sales. Our first target customers are healthcare companies, financial service providers, and utilities. By 2027, we expect revenue to exceed $150 million dollars per year. The chief technical aspects of the Panekana system are already built. All we need is a graphical user interface, to make Panekana user-friendly.
The Ask
We’re seeking $500k pre-seed with a $2.5M pre-money.Those funds go to building the graphical user interface which gets our sales team on the road doing demos to bring in our first customers.I’ve spent decades in enterprise software sales. I can sell the hell outta this. My partner, Fred Cary, has experience funding, building, scaling, and selling companies. This market is huge. Panekana already works. This is an enormous opportunity. Let's talk. Thanks.
